Quote of the day: "Forget Route 66," says Paris. "I think we should just stay in Santa Monica."
Most interesting person met along the way: At the City Bakery in Santa Monica, we sit next to a "personal family coordinator" who is breakfasting with one of her clients, a 5-year-old girl.
Most exciting moment of the day: We see our first Route 66, driving down Santa Monica Boulevard.
Worst point of the day: Dante throws a tantrum on Rodeo Drive. "I don't like this place," he screams and flops down onto the sidewalk. "I want to go to a park!"
Photo of the day: Dante relaxing at a park in Beverly Hills.

All that high-end shopping and Dante isn't having any of it. Here's a road-tripper who knows what he wants. Shopping, beach, yes. Shopping on Rodeo Drive, no. It sounds like he also needs to understand that meltdowns are also a no-no. It may be dawning on him that life is one long roadtrip and then you die : )
