Low point of the day: Listening to the American Girl doll Book on Tape for the 100th time. If I hear the story of Felicity ever again, I'm going to scream!

Amy's doing a great job however, sounds like you're way over budget everyday. You have to do my favorite thing: hit a roadside fruit stand or go to a grocery store & get cheese, crackers or bread from a good bakery & peanut butter - that's cheap. Or yogurt to go with fresh fruit.

Make some trail mix - pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, raisins, almonds, walnuts, dried cranberries, whatever you like. Buy a can of sardines - for a treat buy a pt of ice cr - bananas, apples, you're in watermelon country!

What a trip!

Amy,
Enjoyed your blog. Travelling with a two and a five year old on 66 is an adventure in itself but looks as if you and Anthony handeled it well. Next trip get in touch with the state Route 66 associations along the way so we can meet you and your family as we all enjoy all Route 66 has to offer. Every issue of the Route 66 Pulse I am priveleged to travel from Catoosa, OK to Albuquerque.
Safe and fun travels,
